TDAF uses a key stakeholder consensus approach to help countries implement the WTO TF Agreement and develop a customised Trade Facilitation Implementation Road Map, building on their existing strengths and focused on the development aspirations of the country. This can involve integrating the TFA implementation with other trade development programmes and objectives within the country in order to ensure the maximum synergy, cohesion and longer term benefit. Indeed, for some countries, the WTO TFA may be seen as a baseline for a more ambitions longer term development strategy to enhance competitiveness, and ensure longer term growth and development.
TDAF can analyse requirements for implementing specific measures and can assist in the development of project proposals to donors for technical assistance where required.
We can also assist in the establishment, structure, training and operation of national and regional trade facilitation support structures, such as the National Trade Facilitation Committees under the WT TF Agreement. We have a special expertise in building consensus amongst key stakeholders for realising the dynamic opportunities available under the Agreement.
